Christingle – The Christ Child

The orange represents the world. The red ribbon round the orange represents Christ’s blood. Fruits or sweets skewered on 4 cocktail sticks stuck into the orange , represent God’s good gifts and the 4 seasons. A lighted candle pushed into the centre of the orange to represent Christ, the light of the world. Christ is the light who came into the world at Christmas.

The Crib Service

The Christmas Story told by the children, using the main characters and animals which were then placed on the table. The 3 Kings will be added at Epiphany on 6 January. The tableau will stay until the end of Epiphany – 40 days after Christmas.
